H.O.O.F. (Horse Owners of Fairmont) is a program designed to help take care of horses that are being mistreated due to lack of funding. Amanda has taken great interest of helping this project be recognized to the public and help create funds through her exhibition. She has taken photos, which are displayed on her website as well as at Seed of Diamond Gallery, a sustainable community gallery. I was one of the lucky people who got to see the last Atlantis Shuttle launch in person.

This pavilion was the location of AMANDA STEVENSON PHOTO STUDIO at Space View Park.

The day before......kinda looks like a rocket.

This is the Discovery Shuttle, now used at the Kennedy Visitor Center. The compartment for the astronauts is tiny compared to the rest of the ship where the goods are stored for the Space Station drop off.

This is where everything happens.

T-12:34:04: The night before the launch they lite up the ISS tower.

T-9 and counting: I made my way through the crowd to photograph all the people how had been waiting for 24hrs. to see the launch up close!

Blast off! The final mission of Atlantis will return in 12 days after delivering 4 tons of supplies (including one year of food and provisions).

Faces of a New China

China, the middle kingdom, has once again evolved to have a new face, which Amanda has documented. Amanda traveled to China and experienced a whole new culture as well as a new aspect of life. While she was there she was able to photograph and videotape the lifestyle of China. The photographs depicte the hardworking chinese men on an average work day, while the videos captured the past-time for some chinese people. Minima will be representing Amanda's art work in their store located 118 North 3rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19106. The gallery will open on May 12th and end on July 30th. Come listen to Amanda at the Artist Reception on Wednesday May 11th from 5:30-8:30pm.

Elizabeth Hainen CD Release

Elizabeth Hainen, one of today's foremost virtuoso harpists, will be releasing her CD which we took photos, located in the Piazza at Schmidts for her CD cover and her website. During the close up for her finger work, the acoustics of our studio created this intensified vibration which I felt throughout my body. I love working with musicians to help them interpret their music visually. I was honored to work with her. I would like to thank Bart Blatstein for giving us permission to use his beautiful Piazza for our photo shoot.

On quite possibly the nicest day of the entire summer, my incredible crew and I found ourselves on the Carlyle roof top in center city Philadelphia. Our mission, if we so chose to accept it (which we did) was to capture the stunning model Meier, Amanda Meier, in a spy-theme dusk rooftop shoot! What started out as a Shoot with James Bond in mind quickly transformed into one of the most exciting and gorgeous high fashion shoots I have had the pleasure of photographing. Peter Magee Memorial Surf Tribute

Recently at the beach, I was lucky enough to experience a very touching tribute. The ceremony, dedicated to lifeguard Peter Magee, was held at Ventnor City Beach in New Jersey. As the sun set, a magical vibe enveloped the beach as Pete's friends paddled out, roses clenched between teeth, forming a circle remembering their friend. While photographing the memorial, an Atlantic gust swept over the beach with the smell of oncoming autumn, helping be consiously savor one of the last beautiful nights of another "endless summer". Here are a few photos of the ceremony.

Ben Franklin is Hungry!

Last week my friend J Ward Larkin posed in his classic Ben Franklin regalia around the city on a great Philadelphia afternoon. The rain held off, but Ben's appetite did not! After we hit up Geno's Steaks where Ben was a huge hit with a school field trip and the local South Phillie's, we went back up to Carpenter's Hall where in 1774 Ben and his friends sat down and among other things talked about how to beat those bloody lobster backs!

Wissahickon River Shoot

This past week we traveled just outside Philly to do a lifestyle shoot in the Wissahickon with our stunning blonde model Lauren Baldwin. We found the perfect spot along the river next to the second oldest house still standing in Philadelphia, it was built in 1784! Lauren was not afraid to get wet and we captured some fantastic shots of her in and around the water.

In other news, I recently promoted my two interns! Christine is now officially my Art Director while Kyle will be my Editor. Together we are unstoppable! Relentless! Fantastic!

Juniper Street Photo Shoot

This past Tuesday was awesome. We started off the day shooting Ryan at my house with a class of Drexel University photography students. After finishing up the inside shots and getting our beautiful model Lauren all done up, we hit up Juniper Street and had a fabulous shoot, despite the harsh weather. 2010 Dad Vail Regatta

Last Friday I photographed the biggest collegiate rowing event in the world, the Dad Vail Regatta! There was over100 colleges racing on the Schuylkill River through Friday and Saturday. I was behind the scenes and took some great shots of the athletes, the fans, and the shakers and movers who made it happen! Special thanks to my new friend Pat who was able to drive my interns and I around on the river to capture some great shots of the event.

Philadelphia Phillies Host Tug McGraw Foundation

Last Friday I had the chance to particpate in The Tug McGraw Foundation awareness event at Citizens bank park by photographing two brain tumor survivors. It was great meeting these incredibly courageous people and also getting a chance to walk on the field! It was a great time, enjoy the pics.

Drexel Men's Lacrosse | Photo Essay

Jiu-Jitsu Fantastica

This was a great experience. I thought i was going in to shoot Delilah Den girls fighting but they just turn out to be pretty ring girls who hold the round cards for these bad-ass professional Jiu-Jitsu fighters! These guys travel around the country kicking the snot out of each other, but don't be fooled by their bloodcurdling demeanor's, these guys were sweethearts! This sport is so much different from regular boxing whether involving roundhouse kicks or submission holds it definitely had my adrenaline pumping. Basically imagine wrestling your sibling, but instead of battling on your soft family carpet you are in a steel cage. Oh, and your sibling has more moves than Chuck Norris on steroids. Hiiyahh!

On a somewhat related side note, check out this amazing video featuring the "zef-rap" group Die Antwoord which means "The Answer" in Afrikaans. These guys pump my interns and I up every morning. I hope they do the same for you!
